100% WV 17,5 Micron
17.5 micron 230/240g wool seersucker weave - ton-sur-ton striped-effect texture - fresh hand - compact - brilliant hue.
Italian fabric from the Biella district.
Seersucker was originally developed in India. The word comes from the Hindi, Urdu and Persian words “shir” and “shakar” meaning “milk” and “sugar”. The term describes the fluidity
of milk suggested by the softer threads, while the taut threads suggest the roughness of sugar crystals. Seersucker has a typical undulating appearance that comes from its unusual weave created by alternating very taut and looser threads, the latter giving a soft effect. This fabric is especially popular in spring and summer as it allows air to circulate well since the soft and raised weave gives more distance between the body and the fabric, so air can flow.
